Steve is part of the Global Operations Organization, the functional organization supporting BP Upstream’s Operational Excellence agenda. He has 37 years of industry experience, 32 of those working in oil and gas. He started his career in the Nuclear Navy then moved into refining where he worked as a Maintenance Engineer, Inspection Manager, Procurement Manager, and Turnaround Execution Leader at a Mobil refinery. In the mid 1990s, Steve worked on a small team to develop and deploy Mobil’s first reliability program. Following Exxon’s acquisition of Mobil, he became the leader reliability program for the downstream based in the central engineering center. From there, he moved into site leadership roles including Engineering Manager and Technical Manager and eventually moved into executive leadership of maintenance and reliability at the corporate level working for HOVENSA (Hess) and for Peabody Energy (coal mining), and most recently BP as VP Reliability and Maintenance for Global Operations in Upstream.
