Client’s Requirements: One of the largest agriculture equipment manufacturers in North America wanted to transfer its Tractor CAB manufacturing facility from the US to Mexico. The scope was challenging as it involved transfer and setup of fabrication, welding, and assembly line with provision of NPI of other tractor CAB models. The main challenges:
- Primarily use the equipment from the existing facility with a reduced production capacity.
- The team had only 6 months to complete this project and deliver operator training and work instructions in the local Spanish language.
L&T Technology Services (LTTS), with its vast experience and expertise was chosen to execute this project.
LTTS’ Solution and Business Benefits: To meet the client’s requirements, LTTS designed an end-to-end line transfer solution from layout design to equipment transfer to installation and commissioning. The focus was on agile implementation using concepts of concurrent engineering to ensure success in a short period of time.
The Mexico plant did not have prior experience in manufacturing Tractor CABS. Therefore, the success of this project was crucial for the local team. LTTS helped the client in achieving this goal and maintaining business continuity during a crucial time of their operations. The project was delivered on time and within budget while co-ordinating with multiple teams across geographies.
