Booming Macro Economy Drives the Chinese Programmable Logic Controllers Market

New ARC Advisory Group research on the PLC and PLC-based PAC China market reveals that in 2017, China’s PLC and PLC-based PAC market kept the strong growth trend since late 2016, mainly driven by the booming macro economy and Made in China 2025 strategy.  The strongest growing segments were still micro PLCs and small PLCs, which not only benefitted from being used mainly in discrete automation, but also from the trend in the machinery sector for modular machine designs that need smaller but more controllers.

“Overall, ARC is cautiously optimistic about the development in the PLC market, although the market will not likely experience growth rates of 2017. The possible macro economy downturn and trade fight between China and US are main uncertainties,” according to David Cao, Country Manager at ARC Advisory Group China and key author of ARC’s PLC and PLC-based PAC China Market Research report.
