"Why Investing in Cybersecurity Technology Can Make Plants More Vulnerable to Cyber Threats"

ARC Advisory Group research suggests that overly aggressive efforts to protect industrial facilities from cyber threats can actually lead to overburdened staff and a net reduction in cybersecurity. Plant managers and executives should thus be careful not to just blindly approve requests for ever more sophisticated cybersecurity technology. Instead, using the ARC Maturity Model for Industrial Cybersecurity, companies can take control of cybersecurity investments in a rational way, one that aligns specific security benefits with investments in both technology and resources to ensure strong cybersecurity protection.
