Sharul is based at the East Coast Refinery and Aromatics Plant in Kertih, Terengganu, Malaysia. Effective March 1, he will be official Custodian Engineer, Instrument and Control. Sharul has more than 28 years of experience in handling instrumentation and control issues in oil & gas, gas liquefaction, and petrochemical plants including pipeline transmission networks. He has been involved as an instrumentation expert in many key projects including. Kertih Compressor Station, Peninsular Gas Utilisation metering stations, and MLNG Satu Rejuvenation and MLNG Dua Debottlenecking. Sharul shares globally his valuable accumulated Petronas experience in IIoT and digitalization, cybersecurity, asset management excellence, and process safety compliance that cover smart predictive methodology (e.g. early warning systems and wireless sensors), and plant automation (e.g. offsite automation system rejuvenation). He has participated in various HSE Management Assurance Audits throughout Petronas sites. He also contributed to the development of the core competency program, accelerated capability development, and intensified coaching for instrument engineers and technicians.
