Don is responsible for setting technology strategy for instrumentation, process analyzers, control systems, and applications for ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, including interactions with other ExxonMobil companies regarding process control.  He assists line management with career development of about 1000 process control staff globally.  He has 31 years of experience in ExxonMobil as an individual contributor (real-time artificial intelligence, regulatory control, real-time optimization, and non-linear model predictive control) and in management positions.  He also has 7 years of experience with Bethlehem Steel.  He currently serves as the Co-chair of the Open Process Automation Forum of The Open Group.  Don's professional service roles include Director of AIChE CAST Division, Technical Committee Member for IFAC, and Managing Director of ISA.  He received the Computing Practice Award from the AIChE CAST Division in 2011 and the Excellence in Leadership Award from ISA in 2018.  He has authored 5 patents and 10 articles.
