Thomas is the Executive Director of the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII), a first-of-its-kind manufacturing hub headquartered in Chicago focused on solving the most intractable manufacturing problems through digital technology and business model innovations. Tom is passionate about creating unlikely partnerships across the 300+ DMDII members to create new capabilities in supply chain, manufacturing operations, design, cybersecurity, and workforce development. Previously, Tom was a consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Operations Practice, where he led numerous strategy and operations projects across manufacturing, service operations, and logistics topics. Tom joined McKinsey from the US Navy where he served as a submarine officer.
