Mr. Kaneko is a leader in promoting data science and digital transformation (DX) activities across the company in his current position since 2019. Upon obtaining a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, he joined Sumitomo Chemical in 2003, where his career started in production technology and process development as a process engineer. After 13 years’ experience in production sites, moving to the head office, he worked on the planning of digitalization in the manufacturing factory, today known as the “smart factory,” for the next three years, from 2016.
