Christian obtained his doctorate in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In the VDMA he is responsible for the standardization strategy of the VDMA in the field of Industrie 4.0. He is the designated representative in the OPC Foundation, member of the German Platform Industrie 4.0 (Working Group "Reference Architecture and Standardization"), member of the Expert Panel of the Standardization Council Industrie 4.0, and member of the Executive Board of the German Initiative Labs Network Industrie 4.0 (LNI 4.0).
