Since 2017, Felix leads the Industrial Automation department at Bayer Engineering & Technology, advancing Bayer’s automation and digital manufacturing strategy for product supply.  Felix studied Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Dortmund (Germany) and Lehigh University in Bethlehem (U.S.A.).  He earned his doctorate in process control at the Technical University of Dortmund and started working for Bayer in 2001.  In various functions as a Process Control Engineer he got to know Bayer’s production sites in Leverkusen, Dormagen, and Houston, Texas.  He lead Bayer MaterialScience’s global HSEQ management system for two years before joining the Basic Chemicals division, responsible for the Technology & Innovation department.  Felix was the co-lead of the global initiative for Diversity & Inclusion at Covestro, promoting open-mindedness and fostering diversity.  With the carve-out of Covestro from Bayer, he assumed responsibility for Global Process Control Technology.  Besides his current role at Bayer, Felix is member of the board of NAMUR, the international user association of automation technology in the process industries.
