At Hannover Messe, Plattform Industrie 4.0 and its partners are presenting a 2030 vision that emphasizes autonomy, interoperability and sustainability as central guidelines for global, open digital ecosystems.

Industrie 4.0 is an integral part of production.  Over the past eight years, many factories have been calibrated for flexible and smart production.  The transition from linear value creation chains to flexible and globally connected value creation systems is gaining traction.  Plattform Industrie 4.0 aims to shape the development towards global digital ecosystems.  In its 2030 vision, autonomy, interoperability and sustainability are key guidelines.

The vision underlines the need for openness and globalization of a digitalized industry.  Above all, this requires open, interoperable standards, common IT security solutions, and suitable regulatory frameworks.  Within this vision, autonomy stands for a free scope of design, which guarantees competitiveness and self-determination for digital business models.  Interoperability is the basic requirement for cooperation and open ecosystems, permitting plurality and flexibility.  The concept of sustainability emphasizes modern industrial value creation, which ensures a high standard of living.  The vision reflects European values and is key to securing the global competitiveness of German companies.
