Nestlé @ EIF 2017 – IoT in a Food Industry Brownfield Installation

On May 16th and 17th 2017, ARC Advisory Group will host its European Industry Forum (EIF) in the Meliã Hotel Sitges in Spain.  The European Industry Forum is part of ARC’s successful series of worldwide conferences in the USA, India, China, and Japan.

Ralf Hagen, Engineering Manager E&A, MES, at Nestlé Deutschland will give provide an insight into a IoT case study in a classical brownfield installation in the food industry.

In his presentation, Ralf will describe Nestlé’s journey of finding a partner and the possibilities of IoT, the demands which have been and still are driving the company to solve current and upcoming challenges. As well as the situation, they are in and how Nestlé is planning to tackle it.

The case study describes the prototyping at one of the lines and the expected future impact of applying the lessons learned. Anticipating future challenges, the company has identified parameters that can be tackled more effectively by making use of B&R’s "orange box" technology
