Kontron has signed an asset deal with Telit Cinterion. The acquisition of Telit Cinterion's Cellular Automotive Module Unit is a strategic step for Kontron to, among other things, expand its Internet of Things Cellular Automotive Moduleportfolio with proprietary software technology and better position itself for the automotive industry.

The acquisition of Telit Cinterion's Cellular Automotive Module Unit enables Kontron to extend its product portfolio, expand its internal development capabilities, and meet the growing demand for advanced 4G/5G solutions. With the integration of Telit Cinterion's Cellular Automotive solutions into its own IoT software technology portfolio, Kontron continues to develop its expertise.

The unit's assets generated revenues of just over €100 million in 2022 and will be integrated into Kontron Europe GmbH, a subsidiary of Kontron AG. The purchase price amounts to €24.5 million. The closing is expected to take place by August.
