Innovation in Asset Performance

Three outstanding finalists competed for the Be Inspired Award in the Innovation in Asset Performance category at the Bentley Systems’ Year in Infrastructure 2016 Conference held in London in November. Though vastly different applications, each finalist utilized Bentley’s AssetWise asset performance software in innovative ways in pursuit of its objectives. AssetWise powers a connected data environment to enable multiple data sources to seamlessly operate and provide a common view of data. The finalists were:

• Emerson iOps: Emerson Automation Solutions, a leading supplier of solutions to the process industries, describes its Integrated Operations (iOps) Center in Round Rock, TX as a collaboration and innovation center. By bringing data to people in a central location rather than sending people to the field, users can test drive new ideas and approaches to improving business performance. • MeerKAT: The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Project is an international enterprise to build the largest and most sensitive radio telescope installation in the world. The South African MeerKAT radio telescope will be integrated into SKA. The MeerKAT telescope structure consists of 64 antennae comprised of primary and sub-reflector dishes that must be precisely oriented to the intended use of the telescope. SKA South Africa deployed AssetWise, formerly the eB product, across all sites to capture and manage all asset information required for construction, operations, and maintenance among the various engineering disciplines and multiple parties involved in the project. • Danfoss: The Smart Store Concept from Danfoss leverages the Industrial Internet of Things.to enhance food safety and energy efficiency for retail food establishments particularly supermarkets. Danfoss Enterprise Services is a cloud-based service delivery platform that collects data from a range of connected devices. Danfoss utilizes AssetWise Analytics, formerly the Amulet product, to bring complete visibility into asset performance in one place for both Danfoss and its customers. Smart Store overview.

A panel of three independent jurors selected Danfoss as the winner in this category for the scalability, sustainability, and the energy management capabilities of its Industrial Internet of Things enabled solution.
