Presenting ARC's 21st Annual Industry Forum in Japan
Driving Digital Transformation in Industry and Cities

July 9, 2019 - Tokyo, Japan

To navigate successfully through today’s global wave of digital transformation and make disruptive technologies work for them, manufacturers, municipalities, utilities, and all other organizations will need to roll out just the right mix of technologies at just the right time.  They will need to drive and manage change in processes, people, ecosystems, and technologies while keeping safety and cybersecurity at the forefront.

At this unique event, successful global leaders will speak of their strategies, technologies, and business practices on these topics:

  • How will disruptive technologies change existing products, plants, and cities?
  • Can cybersecurity threats be overcome?
  • How will machine learning, artificial intelligence, and open source solutions transform operations?
  • How will a digitally-enhanced workforce stem the loss of tribal knowledge?
  • How do connected products create opportunities in aftermarket services?
  • What steps can organizations take to foster innovative thinking?

Over 200 top industry executives will get together to explore best practices for success in manufacturing.  Join us at the 21st Annual ARC Japan Forum in Tokyo to learn more about how digitizing factories, cities, and infrastructure will benefit technology end users and suppliers alike.

Featured Keynote Speakers

The following executives will give the Forum's Keynote Presentations.

Uwe Grundmann

Uwe GrundmannGeneral Manager, European Operations
ARC Advisory Group

Uwe is responsible for managing ARC's operations in Germany and Europe. He has over 20 years of experience in the manufacturing industry with deep knowledge in automation and enterprise applications. He established the ARC Advisory Group in Europe. Before joining ARC, Uwe was head of the Software Marketing and Sales team at Rockwell Automation in Gruiten, Germany. His responsibilities included strategic development of new product-based businesses. With his outstanding market knowledge he established new, successful business fields within the German sales operation and opened new channels for product and system sales. He was an active member of the OPC European Steering Committee and helped the OPC foundation to perform their tasks. Uwe has published numerous articles in technical publications and presented papers at a number of conferences.

Takayuki Aoyama

Takayuki AoyamaSenior Manager, DX Promotion Group Production Technology Dept.
Mitsubishi Chemical

After joining Mitsubishi Chemical in 1993, Takayuki engaged in instrumentation control of petrochemical plants . While working in the equipment engineering and maintenance department, he created leading examples by proactively utilizing and advancing field digital communication as well as plant maintenance. In the advanced process control projects of large petrochemical processes, he adopted multivariable model predictive control from overseas, which contributed to Mitsubishi Chemical gaining knowledge and experience in utilizing it by itself. He also introduced and actively promoted SIS, although awareness was relatively low at the company at that time. As a result, the plants could access SIS as standard technology. Currently, he is striving to promote DX technology overall to Mitsubishi Chemical plants in Japan.
