Yokogawa Electric Corporation is establishing new business units at its Singapore regional headquarters and Thailand subsidiary that will be dedicated to the marketing, sales and engineering of ERP (enterprise resource planning) solutions to process and manufacturing industry customers in Southeast Asia.

The new venture directly draws upon the company’s experience in this field in Japan, where it has been providing industrial customers with enterprise-level IT solutions alongside its traditional plant automation and control technology offerings. It also reflects the trend in recent years of industrial manufacturers looking to take advantage of advances in information technology to better manage and leverage data across their organization and thereby improve visibility into operations and enable more efficient production and faster decision making.

From July 1, Yokogawa will offer consultation and implementation for the following enterprise solutions:

  • Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations – the  cloud-based ERP solution from Microsoft
  • mcframe – ERP package from Toyo Business Engineering optimized for use as a production management system
  • FLEXSCHE – a production scheduler developed by FLEXSCHE Corp that supports production planners
  • eServ – Yokogawa’s cloud-based maintenance management system.

Each solution is highly flexible, says Yokogawa, and can be adapted to customers’ specific needs in a wide variety of industries, including chemicals, oil & gas, energy, food, pharmaceuticals, and automobile manufacturing.

Given the company's long experience of delivering control systems, field instruments, and solutions that improve operating efficiency and safety to clients throughout Southeast Asia, the addition of ERP solutions to the portfolio means industrial customers in the region can now access a full range of control and enterprise solutions, from sensors on the plant floor to business planning support for executive management.

Since Yokogawa first established a presence in Southeast Asia more than 40 years ago, the region has grown into a globally competitive processing and manufacturing powerhouse. Japanese listed corporations alone have established 2,500 major manufacturing facilities across the region.
