Connected & Autonomous Vehicles SunTrax Test Bed Tour

From electrification to mobility-as-a-service, transportation is changing fast! Like manufacturing and cities, transportation is also benefiting from digitization, connectivity, and the Internet of Things. Autonomous and connected vehicles are two technologies that will make transport safer, more efficient, and less stressful.

Led by Florida's Turnpike Enterprise, SunTrax is a large-scale, cutting-edge facility dedicated to the research, development and testing of emerging transportation technologies in safe and controlled environments.

The 400-acre site provides miles of high-speed test track for highway and tolling work, a multi-modal pick up and drop off area, an urban section complete with intersections and signal-sapping “urban canyon”, a suburban test area, and a 28-acre paved open space configurable to whatever scenario needed. SunTrax also boasts an environmental test chamber for testing in controlled dust, water, smoke, and fog conditions.

Come on ARC’s tour of SunTrax and learn more about the future of transport!
