For over twenty years, ARC Advisory Group has hosted the ARC Industry & City Forum, where over 1,000 private and public sector leaders gather to discuss Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity, and Smart City topics, and in 2019, ARC is adding a session on Mobility as a Service.

In 2019, we are further expanding our Smart Cities track – filling it with thought-provoking talks and discussion on topics that matter to you. One such session is:

Mobility as a Service: A Focus on Smart Transportation

Car ownership is quickly falling out of favor in cities. The hassle of dealing with insurance, maintenance, repairs, citations, registration, and parking make urban drivers question their choices with each new car-related mishap. Furthermore, drivers often find that one vehicle does not fit all their needs well. A small, efficient car may be best for the work commute while a pickup truck would be handy for a move or weekend project. Research has also shown that private vehicles sit parked over 90% of the time.

Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is a new term describing transport alternatives to personally-owned automobiles. A MaaS subscriber pays for access to transport rather than their own vehicle. This means accessing the optimal combination of transit modes (public transit, ride-hailing, bike sharing, car-rental, walking) for each journey a user makes.

This session will feature case studies highlighting the business opportunities of shared mobility. Learn how the next generation of travelers will transform their habits, reduce single-occupant vehicles, reduce transportation expenses, and increase profitability of customer-focused mobility services.

Come to the MaaS session at ARC’s Annual Forum to hear Andy Boenau of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and Gotcha Group as well as Reuben Franklin from the City of St Augustine give their take on developments in this exciting space.
