For over twenty years, ARC Advisory Group has hosted the ARC Industry & City Forum, where over 1000 private and public sector leaders gather to discuss Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity, and Smart City topics. In its 2019 Forum, ARC Advisory Group is expanding the Smart Cities track – filling it with thought-provoking talks and discussion on topics that matter to you. One such meeting is: The Cybersecurity Challenge for Smart Cities and Infrastructure.
The Cybersecurity Challenge for Smart Cities and Infrastructure
Smart cities have a cybersecurity problem. The operational personnel do not have the time to become cybersecurity experts on their own, but they need to be sure that their organization has an appropriate plan for managing cyber threats. Many smart city projects get too caught up in the implementation of new technologies without a sufficient focus on cybersecurity. A city CIO may become a hero by implementing a big new deployment of smart city technology, but a single ransomware attack could bring all that new technology to a grinding halt. Building a good cybersecurity program is a necessary first step. This session will discuss what it takes to build a good cybersecurity program and key considerations for managing IT/OT convergence.
Additional Smart City Sessions include:
- Smart City Platform Success Stories
- Autonomous & Connected Vehicles Test Bed Tour – FDOT’s SunTrax
- IoT and Smart Lighting Platforms: The Dramatic Impacts and Hidden Opportunities of Convergence
- Smart City Project Best Practices
- Drones for Industry & Smart Cities
- Mobility-as-a-Service Platforms: A Focus on Smart Transportation
