The world’s needs have evolved from a one-size-fits-all network to requiring tailor-made deployments or connectivity built directly into their assets. Cisco is now delivering the Cisco 6300 Series Embedded Services Access Point (ESW6300) designed to provide industry-leading wireless technology wherever needed.

The ESW6300 is the first embedded access point (WAP) from Cisco, purpose-built to fill a physical and digital gap in the Wi-Fi landscape. Designed without an enclosure but instead with industry-leading operating temperature range, this access point gives partners the ability to create custom, environment-specific enclosures, or build Wi-Fi directly into their products to serve their customers’ unique needs.

Early use cases for the ESW6300 include:

  • Smart kiosk, light pole, and bus stop public Wi-Fi to bring the personal and business benefits of connectivity to public locations and retail in urban areas, malls, arenas, and public transport stations
  • Vehicle-mounted camera footage offload to enable first responders to automatically move large collections of data from car to station without costly cellular networks or manual effort
  • Urban mesh networks fitted into newspaper stands to allow Wi-Fi to navigate difficult city landscapes and require only power cabling to extend the network
  • Class I, Division 1 hazardous location enclosures to take the ESW6300 to parts of refineries and chemical processing plants where traditional industrial APs can’t go

The ESW6300 features Dual Power Over Ethernet (PoE) out ports that reduce power cabling requirements for peripheral devices and sensors, while an SFP port enables fast and efficient network backhaul.

Whether built directly into an automated guided vehicle or custom enclosed to connect something yet unheard of in an unprecedented environment, the Cisco 6300 Series Embedded Services Access Point is a designed for versatile operation.
