Will leads ARC's research in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) within the Digital Transformation Group. Will also co-leads ARC's Additive Manufacturing research.
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) has expanded beyond it's traditional roots in new product development. As companies are beginning to harness the value of their data, the role of PLM is shifting from that of mostly engineering design and management to a collaboration hub, connecting all stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the product. This shift is being driven by technologies like cloud computing, advanced analytics, IIoT, and digital twins. These technologies often rely on PLM solutions as a source of context to derive insight, or utilize PLM solutions as means of managing and distributing that insight across the organization and its value chain.
In addition to following the PLM market from a quantitative perspective, Will tracks these and similar trends as they relate to the overall theme of digital transformation.
Prior to ARC, Will worked as mechanical design engineer within the automotive industry. During this time he focused on new product development and cost-reduction projects.
