Shin Kai is a secretariat member of SIG (Special Interest Group), a technical users group composed of Japanese local process engineers from industries such as oil & gas, utilities, petrochemicals, and food and beverages.
His interests and coverage scope in manufacturing are diverse. His recent reports have covered such areas as:
- Industrial control system cyber security
- Asia strategy, through an executive interview series focusing on companies including Yokogawa, Mitsubishi Electric, Azbil, Omron, Hitachi, etc.
- Virtual commissioning in robot simulation
Shin Kai has over 25 years of experience in writing and in covering the industry for leading publications in Japan including Design News Japan (for mechanical design engineers), Control Engineering Japan (for process engineers), Asia Electronics Industry, and others. He was based in New York during most of 1990s, covering the electronics industry for Dempa Publications.
